This historically inspired project at Sovereign Hill pays homage to the craftsmanship and materials of Australia’s 19th-century gold
rush era. Constructed using our Recycled Hardwood, this authentic Chinese camp structure reflects the textures, tones, and
techniques of the time, down to the shingle roofing and simple bush carpentry details.
The exterior is clad entirely in weathered recycled hardwood, showcasing a natural patina that perfectly complements the historic
setting. Built to resemble traditional merchant stores and lodgings from the 1850s, this project celebrates both cultural heritage and
sustainability.
