They mainly include boards of recycled timber planed in our own dry mill - signature marks of age on every piece - and a board to suit every purpose. We also stock north coast timbers such as Spotted Gum, Blackbutt, Ironbark, Red Gum and popular species such as Blackwood and American White Oak suitable for tables, bookcases and shelving. Uncommon Species of Native Hardwood from Far North Queensland Some varieties of native hardwoods are widely available - but many species we observe in old furniture and coachwork are elusive to us: not found in any timber yard. They were sourced in past decades from bush that is now reserved. These minor species are to be found in much smaller stands than common eucalypts and are in stock at Timberzoo in a small range of board sizes. The timber is sourced from native forests whose tenure and management are by indigenous groups in Far North Queensland. The small-scale selective harvest and milling of these sawlogs are possible only by agreement with the state government and local council under a participation and enterprise program called Branch 95.
